CREATOR VIDEO GUIDE
A practical framing and upload checklist for Reels, Shorts, tutorials, reviews, product videos and longer content.
Keep your eyes around the upper third. Leave the top and bottom area free for app buttons, captions and the description.
For YouTube, tutorials or any horizontal video, use the rule of thirds: keep your face near a vertical grid line, with looking-space in front of you.
Keep the important subject bright and clear in the centre. Put your face on a side third so both you and the object can be seen.
Leave a little space between both people. Keep faces at similar height and move closer for clean voice recording.
Clean the lens. Lock focus on your face. Place the camera at eye level - not below the chin.
Face a window or soft light. Avoid a bright window behind you, which makes your face dark.
Use a quiet room, keep the mic close and reduce fan or traffic noise. Good audio holds attention.
For short videos, change angle, crop, B-roll or on-screen text every 2-4 seconds.
Export in 1080p, use 30 fps or the frame rate you recorded in, and upload from a stable connection.
Start with a problem, surprising result or clear promise - do not begin with a long introduction.
Choose a realistic schedule: for example, 3 Shorts or 1 longer video each week. Consistency beats random bursts.
For food, product, screen or place: show a close-up first, then show your reaction or explanation.
Ask permission where needed, do not block a path, and avoid filming strangers or children without consent.
Look at the lens, say one short idea at a time, pause between lines and record 2-3 takes before choosing one.
Show the setup, the useful moment and the result. Remove empty pauses so every second has a purpose.
Quick pre-upload check: Correct format? Face and subject bright? Captions readable? Cover text visible? Audio clean? No private faces or details visible?
UPLOAD & THUMBNAIL GUIDE
Put the creator chest-up on the right third, with eyes high. Use the left side for 2-4 big words; the creator can look or point toward the text.
Keep the creator or main subject centre-upper, not too low. The profile grid may crop the sides, so keep face and big words inside the centre safe area.
Keep the creator on one side (about one-third of the frame) and the promise on the other. Use a bright face or subject, never many tiny items.
YouTube: clear topic + benefit + curiosity. Keep the main keyword near the beginning; do not promise something the video does not give.
Instagram: first line should stop the scroll. Then add short value/context, a simple call-to-action and 3-5 relevant hashtags.
Facebook: open with the useful result or a direct question. Use short lines so it is easy to scan before tapping “more”.
Watch once without sound, once with headphones, and once on a phone. Check thumbnail crop, spelling, captions and the first 3 seconds.
